it is the oddest thing
to look up from what you are doing
and realize
that the wet on your face
is actually
your own tears
I didn’t even realize
that I was crying
there are so many things
to be happy about in my life
friends – far and wide
family – here and far
a 3.5lb heat seeking love machine
the sky is blue
the sun is shining
my family is mostly healthy
I’m as healthy as I’m gonna get
for an old bald broad eh?
I’m going for a drive…
headed to the farm
some forest and field work
is in store for me
in spite of the fact
that I desperately need
to find a job
I need more than even
to connect with nature
and family
I really really need it.
