T’was the month before Yuletide

T’was the month before Yuletide
When all through the land,
No Pagan complained
Or took such a stand.
See, the Christians had long since taken away
… The reason for Yuletide – Yet they still chose to say
How their children were told by their schools not to sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
So December 25th was just a ‘Holiday’
And as normal the shoppers with cash, checks and credit
Were pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
Though of course none were Christians
That would never do
Yet, something was changing, that’s certainly true!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
Targets’ were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe’s the word ‘Christmas’ was nowhere to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples, indeed far and wide
You won’t hear of Christmas; or indeed of Yuletide
With dismay the Christians see Christmas being left on the shelf
While the Pagans see history repeating itself
Now Samhain, Now Beltane, Now Yule and Ostara
Are Halloween, May Day, Christmas and Easter!
Down through the long ages, echoes the clatter
Of eliminated ancient gods, in all public matter
Will they speak not a word, as faith’s taken away?
Forbidden by politics to have choice for a day?
Is the true Gift of Christmas exchanged and discarded?
The reason for the season, stopped before it started?
A religion that steamrollered most of the earth
Stopped in its tracks by ideals of no worth?
So Christians everywhere, listen if you will
PC is not some insurmountable hill
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS to each other if you dare
Cause truly and faithfully, no one else cares
Celebrate your religion, even practice it too!
And remember the Pagans were there before you..
