today I lost my best friend…

the little man that has been with me
through thick and thin
for 17 years

he was my confidant
and my pleasure

while I feel a need to tell people
I don’t have words or patience for sorrow

I am bereft

I want for everyone
to be healthy and wealthy and wise

I want people to stop the childish bickering

I want food on everyone’s table
and I want world peace dammit

but mostly
I want that little brown bundle of joy back
