yesterday was an exceptional day<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ya’ll know that I have depression
\nI won’t say that I suffer from depression
\ncos that’s a given eh?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
anyway
\ngetting up
\ngetting dressed
\nand getting downtown for an appointment
\nis no small thing for me these day<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve been feeling demoralized
\nand ruined
\nand lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m unable to make things work properly
\nthis whole brain injury\/damage issue
\nand the resultant loss of income
\nhas undermined my confidence
\nand really made me feel
\nlike a loser
\nand I’m outta ideas<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m eternally stressed about funds
\nand my greatest fear my whole life
\nhas been the idea of homelessness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but I did it\u2026
\nI got up
\ngot dressed
\ndrove down town
\nfound parking
\nand met with a job\/career counsellor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I of course
\narrived almost an hour early
\ncos I’m OCD about time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was nervous\u2026
\nshe was fantastic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I told her my whole sad story
\nshe smiled
\nand then told me hers
\nsame place
\nsame type of chronic illness issue
\nsame treatment by that employer
\nsame losses to life and identity
\nsame people in charge<\/p>\n\n\n\n
she then when on
\nto give me some options
\nfor my future<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and she said out loud
\n“you have very marketable skills and abilities
\nwe just need to package them properly
\nto find you the fit you need”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
