lets talk Christmas spirit
\nshall we?<\/p>\n
I don’t celebrate Christmas
\nI do celebrate Yule<\/p>\n
I’ve a lot of Christians
\nin my life
\nand a lot of people
\nspout platitudes
\naround this time of year<\/p>\n
so today I’m out…
\nI’m looking for cotton dye
\nto replenish some clothes
\nso I don’t have to buy anything<\/p>\n
I have the cousin’s truck
\nand I’m doing some running around
\nto get a couple of other of things
\nI need at my house<\/p>\n
my cousin’s truck
\nis huge…
\nand for years I’ve driven
\na small car<\/p>\n
I find parking lots
\nat this time of year
\nhard enough
\nhowever today…<\/p>\n
I pull into a lot
\nand there’s a bunch of
\nsmall car spaces
\nso I drive around
\nuntil I find a spot
\nto park
\nthe big red
\nbehemouth<\/p>\n
it literally takes me
\n4 tries to manouver
\nthe truck
\ninto the regular sized
\nparking space
\nwhile giving
\nthe cars on either side
\nequal space<\/p>\n
the parking spaces are only so big
\nand I’m laughing at myself
\nas I get out to go to the store
\nbecause
\ntry as I might the car
\non the passenger side of the truck
\nhas more room than the other<\/p>\n
I get out of the truck
\nand start to the store
\nto be stopped by a
\nshort, rotund woman
\nwith white hair
\nclaiming
\nshe can’t get in her car
\nas I’m parked too close
\n(that’d be the car on
\nthe passenger side
\nthat has extra room)<\/p>\n
I almost said
\n“I wouldn’t be parked so close
\nif you weren’t clearly parked
\non the separating line”
\nbut I chose not to<\/p>\n
I got in the truck
\nbacked out
\nand drove around
\ntill I found another spot
\nI park with equal dexterity
\nand then
\nget out to go in the store<\/p>\n
as I approach the store
\nthe woman from the first space
\nis standing in the space
\nI emptied
\nstill talking to someone<\/p>\n
I go in the store
\nwander around
\nfind the item I wanted
\nstood in line
\npaid for it
\nleft the store
\nwent through the lot
\nget in the truck
\npull out
\nand as I head towards
\nthe original parking spot
\nthe woman finally gets in her car<\/p>\n
as I’m driving passed
\nher
\nin a huge, red, king cab
\nshe backs out
\nand would have hit the truck
\nhad I not laid on the horn!<\/p>\n
the big red truck
\nhas a dandy horn…<\/p>\n
she litterally missed by a hair
\nshe then proceeeds
\nto get out of her car
\nand holler at me
\nwaxes for with this vitriol
\nand ending by calling
\nme the big “C” word
\ngiving me flack
\nabout Christmas spirit
\nand kindness???<\/p>\n
it was at that point
\nthat any semblence
\nof nice or pleasant
\nleft my building<\/p>\n
suffice to say
\nno matter how much
\nI get my “ohm” on
\nI can still attract
\na crowd
\nwhen I lose my temper<\/p>\n
and that old doll
\nmight be thinking twice
\nbefore she hollers
\nat strangers in parking lots<\/p>\n
