I used to love the drive here<\/p>\n
there was a real sense of security and coming home for me<\/p>\n
this is where I repaired my relationship with both my father<\/p>\n
and my spirit<\/p>\n
Dad\u2019s gone now<\/p>\n
and there\u2019s a big hole in my life<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve had my big ugly cry (more than one in fact)<\/p>\n
and I\u2019m sorting through his stuff to see<\/p>\n
what I\u2019d like to keep<\/p>\n
and what my brother and sister<\/p>\n
would like to keep<\/p>\n
it\u2019s hard<\/p>\n
and it\u2019s final<\/p>\n
and it is definitely an end to an era for me<\/p>\n
I\u2019m sad<\/p>\n
I miss him<\/p>\n
it\u2019s one thing to sit down and discuss what needs to be done<\/p>\n
it\u2019 is entirely another to actually do it<\/p>\n
the drive out here is no longer happy<\/p>\n
the safe haven is gone<\/p>\n
