\non a new stove
\nafter 15 yrs with the old one
\nhas been a real treat<\/p>\n
so this morning I get up sick again
\nmy fucking head is not happy this week
\nat
\nall<\/p>\n
anyway…
\nI check out the cupboards
\nand the only breaky food
\nI can find
\nis oatmeal
\nI don’t feel like eating
\ncos I have a pukey headache
\nbut
\nI have to eat…
\nI’m a diabetic…
\nso I put a pot on…<\/p>\n
I love oatmeal
\nthe way I make it now
\nonly this is the first time
\nI’ve made it on the new stove<\/p>\n
the oatmeal has to cook slowly
\nfor 20 min and in the first 10
\nit boils over 3 times
\ncos I can’t get the temp set right
\nfor the slow simmer I need
\nthe first spill over
\nI leaned forward
\nand because this stove is
\nan apt sized
\nand
\nthe elements seem to be
\ncloser to the edge…
\nand don’t I drag
\nthe tie of my housecoat
\nover the burner
\nand set fire to myself.
\nI’ve never shucked my kit
\nthat fast before<\/p>\n
oh well…
\nI didn’t really like
\nthis house coat anyway…
\nwhich reminds me…
\nthe last tenant took
\nthe smoke detector
\noutta the kitchen…
\nmust put that
\non the list
\nfor the landlord!<\/p>\n
I think “I’mma eat my oatmeal
\nand go back to bed.”<\/p>\n
and then…true to form
\ncos there’s not really anything
\nI can do but lay around and wait
\nfor this head to stop
\nwith the little light show
\nand the booming and banging
\nand the feeling like
\nI could pull an eye<\/p>\n
I went to put left over oatmeal
\nin the fridge
\nand somehow managed
\nto knock the package
\nof left over chinese food
\nthat I had for dinner last night
\non the floor
\nthereby forcing me to bed over and wipe it up
\ncausing the head to go postal
\nand a re-appearance
\nof the already consumed oatmeal.<\/p>\n
Pixie of course
\nthinks this is wonderful
\nand dances around underfoot
\nbecause she can’t wait to see
\nif she can help me “clean up”<\/p>\n
ick<\/p>\n
I’m going back to bed
\nI’ll try some toast later.<\/p>\n
I keep reminding myself
\nthat any day
\nI’m not pushing up daisies
\nis a good one<\/p>\n
