\nbeing at the farm
\nalways makes me contemplative
\nso I’ve just reread my post
\nfrom this day last December<\/a>…<\/p>\n
I’ve been contemplating the changes
\nin my life in the past year
\nwork, health, lifestyle
\n2011 held some
\nbig big changes for me<\/p>\n
my daughter died in 2011
\nwhich precipitated
\nfor me
\nand my family
\na kind of reckoning
\nand conversation
\nnever before been held
\nin our family<\/p>\n
I started a new job in July
\nthat I hope will lead to
\nongoing calm, respectful professional work
\nas long as I can work that is…<\/p>\n
the peepers are better<\/p>\n
I know my heart is not affected by
\nthe stress levels on my last job
\nalthough for a while we thought it was<\/p>\n
I know that my Crohn’s is more active
\nthan it’s been in years<\/p>\n
I’m learning to balance the diabetes<\/p>\n
I’m currently dealing with new ailments
\nand struggling to figure out
\nwhat the next test will be…<\/p>\n
I’m hoping that it’s positive
\nlike maybe a ride on the Pickle in the spring!<\/p>\n
today I’ve been reading a lot
\nof people’s thoughts
\nfor the end of this year
\nand the beginning of the next<\/p>\n
so for
\nby a landslide
\nmy favorite
\nfor the last day of 2011
\nis:
\n“A very happy Old Year’s Day to all.
\nRejoice in all the good
\nof the past year
\nand forgive any bad.
\nTomorrow we start anew.”<\/p>\n
I’m both calm and inquisitive
\nas to what 2012 will bring<\/p>\n
Moving in to a new year
\nused to mean a frenzy of preparation
\nto allow me to meet resolutions<\/p>\n
Now it means an understanding
\nthat I continue to be
\na work in progress<\/p>\n
I predict that 2012
\nwill be a year
\nof “balance”
\nworld wide<\/p>\n
Financially,
\nsocially,
\npersonally,
\nkosmically….<\/p>\n
and so…resolutions?
\nthey are always the same:<\/p>\n
“I resolve to continue
\nto learn how to love myself<\/p>\n
I resolve to continue
\nto learn how to be kind<\/p>\n
I resolve to both accept
\nand give charity<\/p>\n
I resolve to love
\nand be loved<\/p>\n
I resolve to respect
\nand be respected<\/p>\n
I resolve to have faith
\nand to be faithful<\/p>\n
I resolve to hope
\nand be hopeful<\/p>\n
I resolve to find the goddess and god
\nin all that I can<\/p>\n
and I promise to forgive myself
\nwhen I slip”<\/p>\n
I wish all of us
\na Happy Healthy New Year.<\/p>\n
