got a wild hair last night
\ndecided
\nseeing as I’d not planned in advance
\nand missed the bus
\nthat I’d hop a ferry
\nand go to the Vancouver International Motorcycle Show
\njust as a surprise
\nto some friends working there
\nand in keeping with
\nmy decision
\nto be nice to myself this year<\/p>\n

so I check the ferry schedule
\n7AM it is
\nthen I check the price…
\ngak!
\nit’s now $13.75 for a person
\nand $45.75 for my little fuel economy car
\nto get on the ferry one way…
\nthat’s 59.50 one way!!!<\/p>\n

talk about being held hostage?<\/p>\n

this of course means
\nthat every trip
\nI plan to take in the future
\nI must budget
\nan additional $120.00
\nfor travel
\nsheesh<\/p>\n

My cousin Judy
\nemigrated to Newfoundland
\na year ago
\njust like I did to BC
\n15 years ago
\nand we’ve been
\nemailing
\ncoast to coast<\/p>\n

her neighbours
\nare kind and loving people
\nand recently
\nthe senior male member
\nof the family
\npassed away<\/p>\n

his daughter
\nbecause she knew how much Jud
\nmeant to her dad
\ngave her father’s claddagh ring
\nto Jud
\nnice gesture eh?<\/p>\n

I sent along some info
\nabout the history of the claddagh<\/a>
\nthat I happen to have
\ncos I’d sent the blister one
\nyears ago
\nfor her birthday<\/p>\n

the blister
\nto the best of my knowledge
\nhas never worn the ring
\nin spite of our heritage
\nor the fact that I really love her
\nand that’s the whole point eh?<\/p>\n

someday someone will buy me one
\ncos it needs to come
\nfrom someone you love
\nbut I’m patient for an old woman
\nand I can wait LoL<\/p>\n

I was surprised to come in here today
\nand discover
\nnot one
\nbut 2 comments from friends
\nto be moderated…<\/p>\n

wow…
\nI’d gotten used to the idea
\nthat I’ve pissed enough people off
\nwhat with my need
\nto hold people accountable
\nin my life…and
\nmy conviction to same
\nand of course
\nmoving the blog
\nanyway…I was convinced
\nthat no one was reading anymore
\nand that I was in here by myself<\/p>\n

it’s never been my intent
\nto piss people off
\nmostly I write
\nfor me
\nand if others read it
\ntheir opinion
\nwhile very much welcome
\nhas little or nothing to do
\nwith what or how I write…<\/p>\n

and very likely
\nwon’t likely change the tone
\nbut you knew that already eh?<\/p>\n

for some reason
\nI’ve started this year off
\nbeing pretty nostalgic
\nmy family has been emailing
\nscanned pictures of us all
\nfrom years gone by
\nplaces
\nand people<\/p>\n

I’ve put all the pictures online
\nin a flickr album
\nbut so far have had to keep em private
\ncos some members of my family
\nhave privacy issues
\nmaybe I’ll be able to share
\none or two here eventually tho<\/p>\n

I’ve also re-engaged with
\nCoronation Street
\nthe serial I learned to love
\nat the knee of my Grandmother
\nand my Aunt Norma
\nmore years ago
\nthank I care to think
\nand also likely prompted
\nby a friend giving me
\na copy of
\n50 years of Corrie
\nfor xmas<\/p>\n

yesterday
\nI went to the grocery store
\nand amoung other purchases
\nbought dish washer soap.
\nI\u2019ve used Calgon
\ndishwasher cleaner for years
\nthat I purchased at the store next door\u2026
\nbut the store next door is closed
\nand the big grocery store
\ndoesn\u2019t carry Calgon\u2026
\nso I sniffed until I found
\nthe least offensive fragrance
\nand purchased something called \u201cFinish\u201d
\n(also the cheapest there)<\/p>\n

In the middle of the night
\nI had to get up
\nand put the box of Finish
\nin a bag on my deck
\ncos the smell kept waking me up
\n(I get fragrance triggered headaches and was on my way)
\nImagine?
\nEnough fragrance to wake me up?
\nblech!<\/p>\n

I’ve been trying
\nto hook my tv
\nto my computer
\nwithout having to completely
\nre-arrange my whole house
\nto do so
\nlast Saturday
\nI went to The Source
\nto purchase a 25 ft
\nS-Video cable with audio
\nthe kid in there
\ntold me it wasn’t possible
\nthat they don’t make them that long
\ncos the integrity of the audio
\nand video
\nwould be at risk
\nso I texted
\nthe blister
\nwho is after all
\na professional audio technician
\nand she tells me
\nthe kid is wrong
\nso I’m off today to find
\nanother place to purchase<\/p>\n

I’d really like to move out of this building
\nbut the prices
\nand the rules around purchase
\nin this province
\nis prohibitive
\nso I’ll stay were it’s cheap
\nand complain a lot ok?<\/p>\n

and finally
\nhere’s the thing
\nthat is really worrying me
\ntoday…<\/p>\n

the peepers
\nhave started to hurt again
\nit’s not even been a year
\nand it’s back
\nso I don’t know what will happen now….<\/p>\n
