sometimes it’s hell

the cost of livin

\nnot so little
\nisland paradise
\nis killing me<\/p>\n
I can’t get outta
\nthe apartment
\nI live in
\ncos the cost of
\nhomes is too high<\/p>\n
I can’t
\ninsure my trike
\ntill my car is pd off
\ncos although I make
\na decent wage
\nthe car payments
\nhave put me
\nover the edge
\nfinancially<\/p>\n
I can’t put money away
\nfor “Gathering” next summer
\nif every freakin cent I have
\nis tied up
\nin bill payments
\nrent
\nor groceries<\/p>\n
I can’t eat the way I should
\ncos I simply can’t afford it right now
\neating is also complicated
\nbut the fact that I had my first
\nfull on Crohn’s episode
\nin 6 years
\nthis week
\ncos I’ve been changing
\nmy diet
\ndue to the diabetes
\nbut
\nthat’s changed now too
\nI’m back to eating
\nmostly complex carbs
\nto get the Crohn’s
\nback under control<\/p>\n
I’m stymied
\nby life
\nI catch myself wondering
\nwere does all the money go<\/p>\n
I don’t eat in restraunts
\nI don’t buy booze or drugs
\nI don’t buy junk food<\/p>\n

\nof snow this week
\nnothing really huge
\nbut it brings lots
\nof this island
\nto a stand still
\ncos people are driving cars
\nwith lightweight or bald
\ntires
\nand they forget
\nthat in spite of the road
\nlooking wet
\nit’s likely black ice
\nand end up in the rhubarb as a result<\/p>\n
then there’s the whole

\nfull on physical body searches
\nhappening at major US airports<\/p>\n
