so<\/strong><\/span>
I had some tests done on Friday<\/strong><\/span>
they neglected to tell me before I arrived<\/strong><\/span>
that I’d not be allowed to drive after<\/strong><\/span>
nor was I allowed to take a cab home<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
my friend Kimmie came and rescued me<\/strong><\/span>
I was whacked outta my gourd<\/strong><\/span>
and as a result I slept for the rest of the day<\/strong><\/span>
and through the night<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I sooo<\/span> wanted to spend the weekend riding<\/strong><\/span>
but instead….<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I got up early and headed up Island to my bother’s<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
cos his eldest was grad-ing<\/span> as valedictorian<\/strong><\/span>
got as far as Crofton<\/span> <\/strong><\/span>
stopped to see some old friends<\/strong><\/span>
it was niiiiiice<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
then headed to Courtenay<\/strong><\/span>
where it was 25 degrees in the shade<\/strong><\/span>
(that’s 77 F for those of you metrically challenged)<\/strong><\/span>
so because I’d only packed warm clothes I had to shop<\/strong><\/span>
and then sit in a gymnasium with 300 others<\/strong><\/span>
at 30 – 34 degrees (86 to….well you get it)<\/strong><\/span>
watching and weeping as our baby boy<\/strong><\/span>
who is now 6ft 5in<\/strong><\/span>
spoke about the future<\/strong><\/span>
and mastering your fears<\/strong><\/span>
and being up to the challenge<\/strong><\/span>
and to go your own way<\/strong><\/span>
and be true to yourself<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
*sigh*<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
then we had a late supper<\/strong><\/span>
and tried to go to bed<\/strong><\/span>
but it was soo<\/span> hot<\/strong><\/span>
and the we couldn’t open the windows<\/strong><\/span>
so I didn’t sleep<\/strong><\/span>
and the grad kids came to the house at 4:45 AM<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
around 8 I got a call from the cousin that lives here<\/strong><\/span>
that one of the maiden aunts that are visiting<\/strong><\/span>
from Toronto<\/strong><\/span>
had some kind of heart attack or stroke<\/strong><\/span>
so we careened back down the highway<\/strong><\/span>
the 3ish<\/span> hours to get home<\/strong><\/span>
and see to them<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I went to bed last night at 9<\/strong><\/span>
and slept till 6AM<\/strong><\/span>
went to work and got sent home at 2 pm<\/strong><\/span>
cos I wasn’t able to keep my eyes open<\/strong><\/span>
and I’ve since fallen asleep on the couch<\/strong><\/span>
3 times<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I’m a mess<\/strong><\/span>
I wonder if it’s stress?<\/strong><\/span>
or heat?<\/strong><\/span>
or the drugs on Friday?<\/strong><\/span>
or lack of sleep?<\/strong><\/span>
or all of the above<\/strong><\/span>
I feel like crap!<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
the good news is that the aunt’s condition is treatable<\/strong><\/span>
and my Crohn’s<\/span> is not on the move…<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
