I’ve just come home from a memorail <\/span><\/div>\n
for yet another rider
<\/span><\/div>\n
John “Red Dog” Farmere
<\/span><\/div>\n
this man was the heart and soul of the
Luxton IronHorse MC Rally for 6 years<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/div>\n
I chaired the Ride for Sight in BC for 4 years<\/span><\/div>\n
and he and I met as we (the Ride for Sight)<\/span><\/div>\n
partnered with them for a couple of years….<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

When the RFS had to leave Luxton<\/span><\/div>\n
(not a decision I made but a corporate one)<\/span><\/div>\n
Red made the decision to close the IronHorse<\/span><\/div>\n
and I took a lot of heat<\/span><\/div>\n
from riders I didn’t even know<\/span><\/div>\n
saying if I’d have stayed with Luxton<\/span><\/div>\n
there would still be both and IronHorse<\/span><\/div>\n
and a RFS in BC.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/div>\n

I felt guilty about it cos in my heart<\/span><\/div>\n
I thought maybe it was true<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span> <\/div>\n
I got a call from Red one day<\/span><\/div>\n
just to tell me that he’d heard<\/span><\/div>\n
I was taking some heat<\/span><\/div>\n
and he wanted me to know<\/span><\/div>\n
that the decision to fold <\/span><\/div>\n
had nothing to do with me<\/span><\/div>\n
that it might in fact have something to do<\/span><\/div>\n
with the RFS pulling out<\/span><\/div>\n
but not me as a person.
<\/span><\/div>\n
today I was struck yet again<\/span><\/div>\n
by the sadness of another family<\/span><\/div>\n
lossing someone too soon.<\/span><\/div>\n

JOHN FARMERE (Red Dog) 1946 to 2007 Red, beloved spouse, father, grandfather passed peacefully February 12th, 2007 at the young age of 60. Red is survived by his loving family, daughter, Tara, grandchildren, Karli, Nicholas, and loving spouse, Karen and her children, Len, Jennifer, and their families.
