what if I’d not given the baby up for adoption?<\/span>
what if the arm wrestler wasn’t a narcissist?<\/span>
what if the Indian wanted a more normal life?<\/span>
what if the East Coast boy wasn’t a thief and a junkie?<\/span>
what if I’d not lost everything?<\/span>
what if I’d not moved here?<\/span><\/p>\n

what if?<\/span><\/p>\n

this I know<\/span>
each of these lessons<\/span>
I had to learn<\/span>
to bring me to <\/span>
the person I have become<\/span><\/p>\n

each of these lessons<\/span>
were specifically designed<\/span>
to teach me what I needed to know<\/span>
to be me<\/span><\/p>\n

you can’t go back<\/span>
