today I had to do some running around<\/span>
on behalf of my unit<\/span><\/p>\n

whilst driving thru the View Royal area
of the thriving metropolis of Victoria
<\/span>I happened to be stopped at the lights<\/span>
at Admirals and Craigflower<\/span>
waiting to turn left onto Old Island Highway..<\/span><\/p>\n

a woman comes screaming down the hill
on Old Island Highway<\/span>
trying to beat the light<\/p>\n

<\/span>she’s on one of them 49cc scooters<\/span>
the ones that don’t go very fast<\/span>
(so screaming down<\/span>
is a relative term)<\/span>
and are tiny<\/span>
(and in my opinion should have to use<\/span>
the bicycle lanes)<\/span><\/p>\n

as she rounds the corner<\/span>
heading away from me<\/span>
on Admirals<\/span>
I have a moment<\/span>
to think<\/span><\/p>\n

“honey…that’s not exactly<\/span>
a becoming look for you”<\/span>
\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n


and as if that wasn’t enough<\/span>
on my way to the dr’s
later this aft<\/p>\n

<\/span>I spot a fellow<\/span>
sitting at the lights at the 6 Mile<\/span>
on a scooter<\/p>\n

<\/span>just a tiny bit bigger<\/span>
wearing a full riding ensemble<\/span>
helmet<\/span>
gloves<\/span>
black leather studded jacket<\/span>
chaps<\/span>
motorcycle boots<\/span><\/p>\n

all I could do was laugh…<\/p>\n

it reminded me of a time
when I lived in Minneapolis
that a group of 8 of us
“motorcycle enthusiasts”
pulled to an intersection
beside the largest human being
I have ever seen
fully swathed in a
silver lame
riding suit
a la Elvis…
complete with 3 gold stars
across his back
and a yellow silk scarf
wearing a matching
full faced helmet<\/p>\n

riding a moped<\/p>\n

we laughed so hard
I had to get off
and park it for a while<\/p>\n

so as of this afternoon
I’ve had the following quote
running thru my head non stop:
“does this bike
make my butt
look big?”<\/p>\n

careful now
don’t hurt yerself on that.<\/span>
