2 summers ago<\/span>
for my birthday<\/span>
my friend Arlene\/Draculeyes<\/span>
got me a tattoo <\/span>
it was done by our friend Craig<\/span>
a Green Man<\/a><\/span>
but one with some autumn colours<\/span><\/p>\n

as luck would have it<\/span>
and sometimes happens<\/span>
the lines blew out<\/span>
and leached dark shadows <\/span>
down my arm<\/span>
not the nice kinda shadows <\/span>
that comes with artistry<\/span>
but the kind that <\/span>
makes ya look like <\/span>
ya don’t bathe often enough<\/span><\/p>\n

Craig died at New Years<\/span>
so my window of opportunity<\/span>
for him to fix up around<\/span>
my Green Man<\/span>
slammed shut<\/span>
and because
he’d done the original
I had some concern<\/span>
around honouring his memory<\/span>
and keeping the tat intact
as he’d intended…
cos I’m all bent like that
<\/span>
this weekend<\/span>
for the last day of her holidays<\/span>
my blister and I <\/span>
went to get tattooed<\/span><\/p>\n

funnily enough<\/span>
the only tattoo that I have<\/span>
that she hadn’t been present for<\/span>
was the Green Man
so it seemed appropriate
that she’d be there for this
<\/span>and I decided to get some<\/span>
work done on it<\/p>\n

<\/span>the tattooist is a guy named Sparky<\/a><\/span>
who owns Urge Tattoos<\/a> in Victoria
and he’s done a couple on each of us
in the past…
<\/span>
he’s done a smashing job
and is a true artist…
he drew it by hand
same as Craig had<\/p>\n

<\/span>however,
I have to return <\/span>
on Tues April 6th<\/span>
cos I wimped out
and couldn’t <\/span>
get it all done
in one sitting…
<\/span>
and here’s a thing<\/span>
tattoo aftercare<\/span>
has changed so much <\/span>
over the years<\/span><\/p>\n

but what hasn’t changed <\/span>
is taping the bandage over it <\/span>
for the first day <\/span>
to keep infection out<\/span>
and the gunk in<\/span><\/p>\n

when you get one <\/span>
on your shoulder <\/span>
like I did <\/span>
they have a tendency <\/span>
to wrap the tape <\/span>
around your underarm <\/span>
to keep it on overnight<\/span><\/p>\n

so me? <\/span>
just for shits and giggles<\/span>
I had some kinda reaction to the<\/span> <\/span><\/span>tape<\/p>\n

not around the tattoo
but in my underarm
it’s so not pretty LoL<\/p>\n

and can I just say?
removing the tape
from said underarm
was worse
than getting the tattoo itself<\/p>\n

cos I apparently are a big wimp
LoL<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

this Green Man<\/a> is going to be the basis
for some more skin artwork methinks
but I’m just in the plotting stages
for now
