the thing about puppies<\/span>
is that they are kinda like children<\/span><\/p>\n

they whine constantly<\/span>
to get your attention<\/span>
but are unable to<\/span>
really tell you<\/span>
what it is they want<\/span><\/p>\n

it’s been my experience<\/span>
that when small children<\/span>
are excessively quiet<\/span>
something is afoot<\/span><\/p>\n

puppies<\/span>
are much this same<\/span><\/p>\n

I awoke early today<\/span>
and as I’d forgotten<\/span>
to plug in the dishwasher last night<\/span>
I had to wait for it to run<\/span>
before I could make coffee<\/span><\/p>\n

Pixie – as per most mornings<\/span>
was zippin around here<\/span>
like the very devil<\/span>
is on her tail<\/span><\/p>\n

this is a practice<\/span>
that takes place<\/span>
most mornings<\/span>
for about the first<\/span>
half hour<\/span>
after she gets outta the pen<\/span><\/p>\n

I sit down at the computer<\/span>
and start my morning<\/span>
of checking in<\/span>
FB, BDB, Delphi, AR,<\/span>
THP, THB, OFOPOS…etc<\/span>
and the 60 er so blogs<\/span>
I check daily<\/span><\/p>\n

I find out that an online friend<\/span>
of many years<\/span>
passed away of a massive heart attack<\/span>
on the 1st of March<\/span>
and I was so self absorbed<\/span>
that I’d not noticed.<\/span>
~R.I.P Squanto – you will be missed~<\/span><\/p>\n

that makes me sad.<\/span><\/p>\n

about an hour later I get up<\/span>
to make coffee<\/span>
and Pixie comes into the kitchen<\/span>
with me to get her<\/span>
morning treat\/chewy bone<\/span>
(thanks Louie…you and Booker<\/span>
started this one LoL)<\/span><\/p>\n

so about an half hour later<\/span>
I’m sipping coffee and still<\/span>
perusing the www<\/span>
when it occurs to me<\/span>
I’ve not heard a peep<\/span>
outta Pixie<\/span>
in about 25 min<\/span><\/p>\n

that can’t be good<\/span>
<\/p>\n

I look in all her favorite haunts
behind the toilet in the bathroom
behind the couch
in her crate in the kitchen
under the afghan on the couch
no Pixie<\/p>\n

CRAP!
did I leave the door open
do I have to get dressed
and go outside to look for her?<\/p>\n

I head to the bedroom
to find my pants
flip on the light
and look at my bed<\/p>\n

there’s this huge pile
of white fluff
where my pillow used to live<\/p>\n

and the pile of white fluff
has a pair of tiny black ears
peeking out at me<\/p>\n

yup
not one
but 2 almost full
boxes of tissue
from my bedside table
are completely shredded
into itty bitty peices
like confetti
and piled lovingly
on my pillow
by one small
black n tan
shredding machine<\/p>\n

as I approach the bed
she jumps up
and wiggles at me
as if to say
“Look what I did for you momma
ain’t you proud”<\/p>\n

“ya I am sweetheart..
but I’m also gonna have
to wipe my nose
and my weepy peepers
on my nightdress
till I can make it to the store
