yesterday the VOD<\/span>
went into the hospital<\/span>
to have her back glued<\/span>
(successfully I might add)<\/span><\/p>\n

I barely knew about it<\/span>
cos now that the “golden boy”<\/span>
has become the “saint du jour”<\/span>
the VOD is only communicating <\/span>
with me<\/span>
when she wants a bottle of scotch<\/span><\/p>\n

so after work I go to the hosp<\/span>
to see how she is<\/span>
I get there <\/span>
and the bother and the nefew<\/span>
are holding court<\/span>
the neace is on her way down<\/span>
as she’s flying to Sask<\/span>
to be scouted<\/span>
by Uni level coaches<\/span>
for scholarships…<\/span><\/p>\n

so it is decided <\/span>
that the bother, the nefew and myself<\/span>
will leave the VOD’s hospital room<\/span>
and adjourn to a pub
just around the corner<\/span>
from my place <\/span>
for din dins<\/span><\/p>\n

the bother is worried
about the neace<\/span>
as it’s her first trip
driving herself<\/span>
down island
and into the “big” city<\/span>
so all the way thru dinner<\/span>
he’s texting her<\/span>
(altho her reading said texts <\/span>
while driving could now cost<\/span>
this new driver $167 and<\/span>
3 points – bonehead)<\/span><\/p>\n

anyway<\/span>
every time she responds<\/span>
I have to read the text
to <\/span>the bother<\/span>
cos he’s too vain to have <\/span>
brought his reading glasses
into the pub<\/span><\/p>\n

so he gets a text<\/span>
he opens the phone
but can’t read it<\/span>
hands it to me<\/span>
I read a text
only it’s from the blister:<\/span>
“musta been a real treat having <\/span>
to spend the whole day
at the hospital<\/span>
with Wyz”<\/span><\/p>\n

fuck eh?<\/span><\/p>\n

so now I can’t get my head around<\/span>
how much of this kinda smack talk <\/span>
has been going on betwixt<\/span>
the bother and the blister <\/span>
all the time?
and behind my back
yet again?
<\/span>
does that mean that they really<\/span>
don’t think I’m a nice person?<\/span>
or a good person?<\/span>
or have the best of intentions?<\/p>\n

and srsly
wtf did I ever do to either of them
that was so life alteringly mean
or cruel or harsh?

every time I think I’m making <\/span>
headway with the blister<\/span>
I find out it’s all a facade<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m tired of the people <\/span>
I love and respect<\/span>
(altho sometimes I wonder why I do)<\/span>
treating me like a floor mat<\/span><\/p>\n

I so don’t get people’s need<\/span>
to be mean<\/span>
does it make them feel better<\/span>
about themselves<\/span>
to chuck needless\/endless shit<\/span>
at or about someone else?<\/p>\n

about myself
and the place I’m in
