wtf is wrong with people?<\/span><\/p>\n

I have been reading a blogger for a year er two<\/span>
over at <\/span>Boobs, Injuries and Dr. Pepper<\/a><\/p>\n

I read her cos she’s witty<\/span>
she’s enthusiastic <\/span>
she’s funny<\/span>
and has a love for life <\/span>
and for her family…<\/span><\/p>\n

in good times and bad.<\/span><\/p>\n

I read her cos she’s got a good heart<\/span>
and a hard head<\/span>
and like me<\/span>
she comes from the school of hard knocks<\/span><\/p>\n

while I read her<\/span>
so do thousands of others<\/span>
and as a result<\/span>
she’s become slightly famous <\/span>
in the blogsphere<\/span><\/p>\n

and in becoming slightly famous<\/span>
she’s also become the envy<\/span>
of a lot of people<\/span>
that have a desperation <\/span>
to be seen in the spotlight<\/span>
but not the tools <\/span>
to do so<\/span><\/p>\n

well over a year ago<\/span>
she suffered a break down of sorts<\/span>
and ended up in the hospital<\/span>
and part of her process for healing<\/span>
was to vent on line<\/span><\/p>\n

she bled<\/span>
she wept<\/span>
she raved<\/span>
and she confessed<\/span>
she called herself names<\/span>
she compared herself to every evil<\/span>
and base instinct known to mankind<\/span>
in an effort to purge it all<\/span>
and somehow find happiness again<\/span><\/p>\n

her readership soared<\/span>
people lavished her with praise<\/span>
and support<\/span>
they raved<\/span>
and rallied behind her when the odd person<\/span>
would comment in a negative fashion<\/span><\/p>\n

every time she said that she was going<\/span>
to stop writing<\/span>
people begged her to continue to write<\/span>
likely because her writing<\/span>
made them feel better about themselves<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past little while<\/span>
the tides have turned<\/span>
and the next flavor of the month<\/span>
has become a genre of bloggers<\/span>
who make their fame<\/span>
out of smacking down<\/span>
or putting down<\/span>
or ridiculing the subject matter<\/span>
of people like Cyrstal <\/span>
at <\/span>Boobs, Injuries and Dr. Pepper<\/a><\/p>\n

they’re like pack animals<\/span>
and take down the old, <\/span>
the infirm<\/span>
or the people they are just plain jealous of<\/span>
some people just jump on a band wagon when they see one<\/span>
not because they know what’s going on <\/span>
but because being judgmental <\/span>
makes them feel better <\/span>
about their own inefficacious little lives….<\/span><\/p>\n

they are hard, bitter, miserly,<\/span>
narcissistic and sanctimonious <\/span>
(and to coin a phrase) they are Christians of convenience<\/span><\/p>\n

They begged her for more <\/span>
and then hold her up for examination <\/span>
and ridicule <\/span>
if she doesn’t meet their pious viewpoint…<\/span><\/p>\n

Crystal, you and the Mr need only answer to yourselves, <\/span>
your family and <\/span>
whatever the hell it is that you call god<\/span><\/p>\n

all the rest is window dressing<\/span>
and truly has no bearing <\/span>
on who and what you are…<\/span>
only you can effect change upon yourself…<\/span><\/p>\n

they all deserve each other…<\/span>
and the rest of us will continue to read you <\/span>
when we need\/want to<\/span><\/p>\n

cos truly….<\/span>
with the good – <\/span>
comes the bad…<\/span>
that’s called friendship <\/span>
and speaks volumes <\/span>
to the differences between <\/span>
friends and acquaintances.<\/span><\/p>\n

take heart dear woman….<\/span>
for every one of them that’s flapping their lips <\/span>
there is one of us that knows the true perils of real life…<\/span>
