I’ve been trying to reach the fadder<\/span>
since last week<\/span><\/p>\n

no answer at his house<\/span>
no answer on his cell<\/span><\/p>\n

so I tried him early this morn <\/span>
to find out wtf?<\/span><\/p>\n

turns out <\/span>
he’s in Nelson<\/span>
“visiting” with a woman<\/span>
he met on line<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t know why I am<\/span>
but I’m gobsmacked<\/span>
I should really know better<\/span>
but I’m gobsmacked<\/span>
he’s had a string of relationships<\/span>
since he and the VOD split up<\/span>
and they’ve all been “secret squirrels”<\/span>
it’s a whole mouthful to say<\/span>
that the VOD was the best thing that <\/span>
ever happened to him….<\/span><\/p>\n

he didn’t tell me he was going<\/span>
cos he knew I’d try to talk him outta it<\/span>
not because I don’t think this new woman<\/span>
is nice<\/span>
or right for him<\/span><\/p>\n

but because I don’t think he’s right<\/span>
for anyone….<\/span>
in the relationship dept I mean<\/span><\/p>\n

he just split up <\/span>
with his last partner<\/span>
of 10 yrs<\/span>
and got screwed right up the yak <\/span>
financially <\/span>
cos he was too proud to talk to her<\/span>
about finances<\/span>
they lived together for 10 years<\/span>
and he never did know how much money<\/span>
she had…<\/span>
he made himself sick trying to keep up <\/span>
to her wants and needs financially<\/span>
and he never talked to her about money<\/span><\/p>\n

besides<\/span>
he’s only been on his own <\/span>
since Oct<\/span>
and really from Oct to Feb<\/span>
he lived at the bother’s house<\/span>
(it wasn’t friendly<\/span>
but he lived there)<\/span>
so he’s been on his on for March <\/span>
and part of April<\/span>
and the first part of April<\/span>
he went home to bury his sister<\/span><\/p>\n

and already he’s off <\/span>
sowing his freakin<\/span>
80 yr old oats<\/span><\/p>\n

some might think that’s something<\/span>
to be proud of<\/span>
an 80 yr old with oats to sow<\/span><\/p>\n

me – I’ve been up close and personal<\/span>
with this 80 yr old <\/span>
for 53 almost 54 yrs<\/span>
and this I know…<\/span><\/p>\n

he’s afraid to be alone<\/span>
cos if he spent some time alone<\/span>
he might have to examine <\/span>
why he’s alone
and that might lead
to some self examination
that could just cause
a little crumble
of the old “foundation”
<\/span>
because<\/span> should he have to do that<\/span>
he might just find out<\/span>
that while parts of him are pretty stellar<\/span>
some of him…<\/span><\/p>\n

not so much<\/span><\/p>\n

and maybe even he might find out<\/span>
that his “relationship” with his god<\/span>
isn’t as strong as he’d like to believe<\/span>
cos he’s always trying to find some way<\/span>
to prove that he’s a good guy<\/span>
without actually becoming…<\/span>
I don’t know?<\/span><\/p>\n

a good guy maybe?<\/span><\/p>\n

I ain’t saying I’m perfect<\/span>
fact is I’m a product of all my raising<\/span>
(plant a potato, get a potato…right?)<\/span>
and all the shit I put myself through<\/span>
and all the shit that’s been done to me<\/span>
and all the shit happened to me<\/span>
but <\/span>
seriously<\/span>
I ain’t afraid to be alone<\/span>
in fact I kinda like it<\/span><\/p>\n

cos in the end<\/span>
I have to make my peace with me<\/span>
before I can be healthy <\/span>
betwixt my ears<\/span>
and in my heart<\/span>
with someone else<\/span><\/p>\n

small wonder <\/span>
my sister and I are single eh?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
