I’ve been looking for eyeglass frames<\/span>
for a couple of years<\/span>
but have had serious trouble with my eyes<\/span>
so I put off buying glasses till I knew<\/span>
what was going on…<\/span><\/p>\n

after being diagnosed with this wonky eye disease<\/span>
in December<\/span>
the specialist gave me permission<\/span>
to finally get a new prescription…<\/span><\/p>\n

I got my new glasses today<\/span>
I’d ordered them on March 19th<\/span>
and paid $869.00 up front for them<\/span>
(I get 200.00 back<\/span>
from our medical plan<\/span>
at work<\/span>
so god bless Mastercard!)<\/span><\/p>\n

they were to be here in 2 weeks<\/span>
3 weeks ago I call and ask where they are<\/span>
they tell me that they’ll call the lab to find out<\/span>
3 days later I call again<\/span>
they tell me they got busy<\/span>
and forgot to call the lab<\/span>
but as the lab is closed<\/span>
they will call in the morning<\/span><\/p>\n

in the morning<\/span>
they call me<\/span>
and tell me that they’ve discovered<\/span>
that they forgot to send the order<\/span>
to the lab 3 weeks ago<\/span>
so they hadn’t even left the building<\/span><\/p>\n

they apologize profusely<\/span>
and then they tell me<\/span>
that they’ve put a “super rush” on them<\/span><\/p>\n

I laugh and tell em it’s ok<\/span>
we’re all human<\/span><\/p>\n

today (almost 2 more weeks later)<\/span>
they call and tell me<\/span>
that they are ready<\/span>
I go in to pick them up at 4 pm (they close at 6)<\/span>
I try them on<\/span>
to make sure that they are centered<\/span>
and the left lens falls out<\/span><\/p>\n

I catch it<\/span><\/p>\n

we all laugh and they put the lens back in<\/span><\/p>\n

we decide<\/span>
I shouldn\u2019t wear them to drive cos<\/span>
my eyes are pretty sore<\/span>
and it’s the end of the day<\/span>
so I’ll put them beside my bed<\/span>
and wear them tomorrow<\/span>
from first thing in the morning<\/span><\/p>\n

I drive home<\/span>
I go to the VOD’s<\/span>
and try them on to show her<\/span><\/p>\n

the left lens falls out<\/span><\/p>\n

I call them…<\/span>
“guess what?<\/span>
The left lens fell out!”<\/span><\/p>\n

They tell me to come back<\/span>
(thank goodness they are close)<\/span><\/p>\n

I go back<\/span>
We all laugh<\/span>
and they fix em again<\/span><\/p>\n

I put em back in my bag<\/span>
and drive into the city<\/span><\/p>\n

I go into the store<\/span>
and take the new glasses out<\/span>
so I can read a label on a bottle<\/span><\/p>\n

I put them on…<\/span>
the left lens falls out<\/span><\/p>\n

Fuck me
I’m done…

I’m no longer laughing…<\/span>
I’m taking em back tomorrow<\/span>
and shoving em up someone’s ass<\/span><\/p>\n
