one of the medications<\/span>
that I am currently on<\/span>
causes violent muscle cramps<\/span>
in places <\/span>
that it is well documented
<\/span> that I don’t have
anything <\/span> that remotely <\/span> resembles
a muscle<\/span> <\/p>\n

I get these cramps
in my shin <\/span><\/span>
and my calf
at the same time<\/span>
that are so bad <\/span>
I can’t do anything <\/span> but cry<\/span> <\/p>\n

I get them in my sides<\/span>
and in my hands<\/span>
and I get them in my back<\/span>
under my shoulder blade<\/span><\/p>\n

they are bad enough<\/span>
that I can’t walk them out<\/span>
and I can’t stand up<\/span>
and the only thing <\/span>
that sometimes relaxes them<\/span><\/span>
or relieves them
is deep massage<\/span> <\/p>\n

have I mentioned <\/span>
that I live alone?<\/span> <\/p>\n

so I bought me
one o them<\/span>
heavy duty <\/span>
deep <\/span> vibrating<\/span>
massage<\/span> machines<\/span><\/span>
that looks <\/span> suspiciously<\/span>
like<\/span> ET.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

it’s plugged into the wall socket<\/span>
beside my bed<\/span>
and <\/span> it works well<\/span>
and it’s loud<\/span> <\/p>\n

I often think<\/span>
that the elderly woman<\/span>
that lives
in the apartment<\/span> above me<\/span>
must think I’m down here<\/span>
going<\/span>
WAAAAHHHOOOOO!<\/span>
in the middle of the night<\/span> <\/p>\n

but I ain’t
really?<\/p>\n

does this face
look like it would
lie to you?<\/p>\n

<\/span>often this cramping<\/span>
happens in the middle of the night<\/span>
and as I’m also medicated<\/span>
to sleep<\/span>
the irony of <\/span> the whole process<\/span>
of laying on the vibrating ET<\/span>
on my bed<\/span>
while it massages the cramp<\/span>
out from under my shoulder blade<\/span>
is not lost on me.<\/span> <\/p>\n

Last night I didn’t have any cramps<\/span>
but I did wake a couple of times <\/span>
over the course of the night<\/span>
thinking\/dreaming
that there was a <\/span> woodpecker <\/span>
in my bedroom<\/span> <\/p>\n

bzzzzzzzzz?<\/span>
bzzzzzzzzz?<\/span>
bzzzzzzzzz?<\/span> <\/p>\n

each time <\/span>
I fuzzily <\/span> fell back
to sleep <\/span>
wondering
if I was <\/span> dreaming
the sound<\/span> <\/p>\n

this morning <\/span>
when the the alarm went off<\/span>
I discovered
that what had happened<\/span>
was that the switch
had been hit<\/span>
to the “on” position<\/span>
on good ole ET<\/span>
as I climbed into bed<\/span>
and there it lay<\/span>
quietly vibrating away<\/span>
on my bedroom floor<\/span>
all night long…<\/span> <\/p>\n

the vibrations caused ET
to <\/span> ever so slowly<\/span>
move across the bedroom floor<\/span>
to rest against my bedside table<\/span>
and the sound<\/span> of ET vibrating<\/span>
against the bedside table<\/span>
was the woodpecker<\/span>
I kept hearing in my sleep<\/span><\/p>\n

*sigh*<\/span>
only in my bedroom<\/span>
could something like this happen<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n
