did ya ever notice how<\/span><\/strong>
sometimes in your life<\/span><\/strong>
you seem to be on the outside<\/span><\/strong>
looking in?<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
that’s how this weekend was for me<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so much of it <\/span><\/strong>
was spent in quiet reflection<\/span><\/strong>
whilst sitting in a field <\/span><\/strong>
amoungst some 1900 revellers<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
it was a very odd <\/span><\/strong>
and disjointed <\/span><\/strong>
weekend for me<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m used to being in the thick<\/span><\/strong>
I’ve pulled myself away<\/span><\/strong>
apparently the walls are back<\/span><\/strong>
and I’m not sure that I like it…<\/span><\/strong>
it’s like 10 years of personal work<\/span><\/strong>
has gone down the drain<\/span><\/strong>
I don’t like feeling insecure again<\/span><\/strong>
or tentative with people<\/span><\/strong>
but I just don’t know what to expect next<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I know where I stand tho…<\/span><\/strong>
so <\/span><\/strong>
I guess it’ll get better<\/span><\/strong>
or not<\/span><\/strong>
we’ll see….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
anyway….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m home<\/span><\/strong>
tired<\/span><\/strong>
but home<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I came careening home <\/span><\/strong>
a day early <\/span><\/strong>
due to a series\/flurry of phone calls<\/span><\/strong>
and text messages <\/span><\/strong>
from the blister and bother<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
seems they’re finally worried about the VOD<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
have I ever mentioned that the bother<\/span><\/strong>
lives on the same damn Island <\/span><\/strong>
as the VOD and I do?<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so puzzle me this?<\/span><\/strong>
why was it necessary for me to blast<\/span><\/strong>
500 plus odd kms <\/span><\/strong>
interrupting my holidays<\/span><\/strong>
to get home <\/span><\/strong>
and “see to” the VOD<\/span><\/strong>
when he lives <\/span><\/strong>
200 kms away<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
and the cousin that started the panic<\/span><\/strong>
lives in the same damn city<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
seems that the cuz called the VOD<\/span><\/strong>
and she sounded “weak and frail”<\/span><\/strong>
so she called the bother<\/span><\/strong>
who texted the blister <\/span><\/strong>
which caused all 3 of them to call me<\/span><\/strong>
in a damn panic<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
uhhhm hello?<\/span><\/strong>
where the fuck have ya’ll been <\/span><\/strong>
for the last 5 years?<\/span><\/strong>
did ya think I was makin this shit up?<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so I get home<\/span><\/strong>
at 8pm<\/span><\/strong>
and the VOD is in bed<\/span><\/strong>
she prolly weighs 90 lbs<\/span><\/strong>
and hasn’t eaten since I left<\/span><\/strong>
on Thursday<\/span><\/strong>
and all the food I bought her <\/span><\/strong>
before I left<\/span><\/strong>
is in the fridge…<\/span><\/strong>
some of it now has to be thrown out…<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I think <\/span><\/strong>
she’s been drinking instead<\/span><\/strong>
but the cuz, the bother and the blister<\/span><\/strong>
think she may have had a stroke<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
she and I had a little talk<\/span><\/strong>
and I told her she’s going <\/span><\/strong>
to the Dr’s today<\/span><\/strong>
even if I have to drag her<\/span><\/strong>
kickin and screamin<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I think I still have a “Power of Attorney” doc<\/span><\/strong>
but I gotta check<\/span><\/strong>
cos I’m sure things <\/span><\/strong>
ain’t gonna be pretty from here on in!<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I got a couple of very nice<\/span><\/strong>
“early” b’day gifts<\/span><\/strong>
Bee got me a beautiful hard cover copy of<\/span><\/strong>
“Good Faeries, Bad Faeries<\/a>” by Brian Froud<\/a><\/span><\/strong>
and Arlene got me one of the three tattoo’s <\/span><\/strong>
that I’ve been waiting to get<\/span><\/strong>
till I have a little “extra cash”<\/span><\/strong>
\"Photobucket\"<\/a><\/span><\/strong>
this is it about 10 min after it was finished<\/span><\/strong>
it’ll look much better once it’s <\/span><\/strong>
cleaned up and healed<\/span><\/strong>
I’ll find someone with a camera<\/span><\/strong>
and get a better pic then….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
kinda nice tho<\/span><\/strong>
both gifts speak to my spirit<\/span><\/strong>
and that kinda recognition <\/span><\/strong>
