I spent the whole day today<\/span><\/strong>
fighting the urge to cry<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
right from the moment <\/span><\/strong>
I got out of bed<\/span><\/strong>
I wanted to weep<\/span><\/strong>
yet somehow <\/span><\/strong>
couldn’t allow myself to<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
we had an employee satisfaction survey<\/span><\/strong>
to fill out today<\/span><\/strong>
and the nutcase boss <\/span><\/strong>
advised us how to answer<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
that’s ethical<\/span><\/strong>
not!<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’ve come to realize <\/span><\/strong>
that without further education<\/span><\/strong>
I’m not going to get any further in that place<\/span><\/strong>
no matter <\/span><\/strong>
how smart <\/span><\/strong>
or savy<\/span><\/strong>
or skilled I am….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
which means that I’ve got<\/span><\/strong>
2 more years of work<\/span><\/strong>
before I completely come to a stand still<\/span><\/strong>
in the paygrade area<\/span><\/strong>
after that…I just stagnate<\/span><\/strong>
for ever and ever…<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
and yet<\/span><\/strong>
while it would be the perfect place <\/span><\/strong>
to educate myself <\/span><\/strong>
because it is specifically designed <\/span><\/strong>
to facilitate education <\/span><\/strong>
while holding down a full time job<\/span><\/strong>
and I could do it for half price<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m stymied<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m stymied because <\/span><\/strong>
I can’t make a decision <\/span><\/strong>
as to direction<\/span><\/strong>
Project Management?<\/span><\/strong>
Human Resources?<\/span><\/strong>
official basket weaver?<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
and I’m stymied<\/span><\/strong>
because I know<\/span><\/strong>
without question<\/span><\/strong>
that my health <\/span><\/strong>
would not stand <\/span><\/strong>
for me to add <\/span><\/strong>
approx 15 to 20 hours a week<\/span><\/strong>
to my current workload<\/span><\/strong>
over the time it would take<\/span><\/strong>
to complete <\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so<\/span><\/strong>
I’d end up with an education<\/span><\/strong>
and be at death’s door<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’ve been fighting with <\/span><\/strong>
this here computer <\/span><\/strong>
for a while now<\/span><\/strong>
for some reason <\/span><\/strong>
about 3000 of my mp3’s<\/span><\/strong>
have decided <\/span><\/strong>
that they won’t play anymore<\/span><\/strong>
and no amount of trying <\/span><\/strong>
to back date this machine<\/span><\/strong>
to when they were working<\/span><\/strong>
seems to make a difference<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
once again<\/span><\/strong>
I’m a prime example <\/span><\/strong>
of a little bit of knowledge<\/span><\/strong>
being a dangerous thing<\/span><\/strong>
and mostly I’m just really tired<\/span><\/strong>
of being frustrated with the damn thing<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I bought a car <\/span><\/strong>
while I was off on holidays<\/span><\/strong>
and while the payments<\/span><\/strong>
are as low as one can get<\/span><\/strong>
I’m still concerned about finances<\/span><\/strong>
and gawd knows<\/span><\/strong>
I can<\/u> unrealistically worry about money<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
and I’m allergic <\/span><\/strong>
to the chemical “new” car smell<\/span><\/strong>
so it’s made me sick<\/span><\/strong>
but it could be something else<\/span><\/strong>
cos about have the “institution of higher learning”<\/span><\/strong>
is out with some kind of death defying galloping crud<\/span><\/strong>
that is laying healthy people out<\/span><\/strong>
flat on their backs <\/span><\/strong>
for 2 or 3 weeks at time<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m scared I’m gonna get it too<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
taking last week off<\/span><\/strong>
found me coming back to work<\/span><\/strong>
having to make up<\/span><\/strong>
10 days of work<\/span><\/strong>
in 4 days<\/span><\/strong>
with little or no consideration<\/span><\/strong>
from the nut case<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
my two friends <\/span><\/strong>
that are leaving us….<\/span><\/strong>
actually left the Island today<\/span><\/strong>
and while I know in reality <\/span><\/strong>
they are only a phone call away<\/span><\/strong>
I’m sadder than sad<\/span><\/strong>
about the idea <\/span><\/strong>
that I can’t just slip an hour up the road<\/span><\/strong>
for coffee<\/span><\/strong>
although I can count the number of times <\/span><\/strong>
I did that<\/span><\/strong>
on one hand<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
it’s just the knowing<\/span><\/strong>
that I could have <\/span><\/strong>
had I wanted <\/span><\/strong>
that made me feel secure<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
all of this is topped off<\/span><\/strong>
by finding myself<\/span><\/strong>
sitting in front of the tube<\/span><\/strong>
this evening<\/span><\/strong>
watching “Out of Africa”<\/span><\/strong>
and crying like a baby<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
seems to me<\/span><\/strong>
that there’s gotta be <\/span><\/strong>
a break in the grey<\/span><\/strong>
that my life has become<\/span><\/strong>
sometime soon<\/span><\/strong>
before it’s too late<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
must be time to get the crochet hook out<\/span><\/strong>
I feel an urge <\/span><\/strong>
to <\/span><\/strong>
crochet my way<\/span><\/strong>
to mental health once again<\/span><\/strong>
coming on<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
sad days <\/span><\/strong>
sad nights<\/span><\/strong>
call for sad music<\/span><\/strong>
