Spectacles, Testicles…..wallet and watch<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
a little ditty the fadder used to mutter<\/strong><\/span>
prior to leaving the house<\/strong><\/span>
each day<\/strong><\/span>
just to remind himself to check and see<\/strong><\/span>
that he has all he needs<\/strong><\/span>
prior to departure<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I am reminded of this little ditty <\/strong><\/span>
not because of my interest in testicles<\/strong><\/span>
or wallets or watches<\/strong><\/span>
but because I am once again on a quest<\/strong><\/span>
for eyeglass frames<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I wear funky 3 dimensional eyeglasses<\/strong><\/span>
most people couldn’t wear glasses like mine<\/strong><\/span>
but I can cos I don’t have a hairdo to compete<\/strong><\/span>
with them….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
I’ve worn these glasses for 6 years<\/strong><\/span>
they are very light weight titanium<\/strong><\/span>
and they are mottled gunmetal and pewter<\/strong><\/span>
that sort of change color when you look at them<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
but they are broken<\/strong><\/span>
part of the frame broke a year ago<\/strong><\/span>
I tried to get them fixed<\/strong><\/span>
but there’s only one guy in all of Canada<\/strong><\/span>
that can fix titanium eyeglasses<\/strong><\/span>
and he’s a 3 day drive from my home<\/strong><\/span>
that’s 3 days in one direction….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
so the eye Dr’s assistant <\/strong><\/span>
ever so helpfully suggests<\/strong><\/span>
that I courier them to the guy<\/strong><\/span>
3 days drive away<\/span><\/strong>
to have them fixed<\/strong><\/span>
cos that’ll only be <\/span><\/strong>
about 10 days<\/strong><\/span>
in total<\/span><\/strong>
she says….<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
uhmmmmm?<\/strong><\/span>
what should I do about seeing <\/strong><\/span>
while they are gone for 10 days?<\/strong><\/span>
shall I not work?<\/strong><\/span>
how about driving without my glasses?<\/strong><\/span>
watch tv?<\/span><\/strong>
see the sun?<\/span><\/strong>
hello?<\/strong><\/span>
hello?<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
I wanted to knock her on the side of the head<\/strong><\/span>
and ask “is this turned on?”<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
so in May I got my eyes tested <\/strong><\/span>
and I’ve been looking for eyeglasses ever since<\/strong><\/span>
I have searched high and low<\/strong><\/span>
and all I can find<\/strong><\/span>
are frames that are rectangular
<\/strong><\/span>
you can get em in any color you want<\/strong><\/span>
but they are all rectangular<\/strong><\/span>
big rectangles<\/span><\/strong>
and little regtangles<\/span><\/strong>
plastic<\/span><\/strong>
or wire<\/span><\/strong>
or titanium<\/span><\/strong>
but rectangular <\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
have I mentioned that I have a rather <\/strong><\/span>
large ROUND BALD HEAD?<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
oh<\/strong><\/span>
I’m yelling again….<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

today I got a call from the eye Dr’s assistant<\/strong><\/span>
she’s all excited cos “there’s new trendy frames in<\/strong><\/span>
and I thought immediately of you”<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I take part of the afternoon off<\/strong><\/span>
drive a half hour across town<\/strong><\/span>
to be presented with this:<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>

and frankly…green flowers do not a biker’s glasses make<\/strong><\/span>
