so I’m not feeling exactly wonderful this morning<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
but I come into work anyway<\/span><\/strong>
thinking that I’ll just sit <\/span><\/strong>
in my corner<\/span><\/strong>
be quiet <\/span><\/strong>
and people will leave me alone….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
start out with going into the cafeteria<\/span><\/strong>
lookin<\/span> for java<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I spot a woman<\/span><\/strong>
of my age….dressed like she thinks she’s 16<\/span><\/strong>
acting like an expectant<\/span><\/strong>
4 yr old<\/span><\/strong>
cos our cafeteria doesn’t carry<\/span><\/strong>
her exact brand<\/span><\/strong>
of sugary tooty<\/span> fruity cereal<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I mean <\/span><\/strong>
this woman is stomping her feet <\/span><\/strong>
and causing a scene<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so I get my coffee and head to my office<\/span><\/strong>
“keep yer mouth shut”<\/span><\/strong>
I says to me self….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
due to the fact that I’m an early bird<\/span><\/strong>
I am one of the few offices with lights on<\/span><\/strong>
this early in the morning<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
low and behold the same woman comes to my door<\/span><\/strong>
to demand that we open up the reception counter<\/span><\/strong>
so she can “purchase some photocopying”<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I explain that that department <\/span><\/strong>
is at the other end of the hallway<\/span><\/strong>
and opens at 8:30<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
to which she starts stamping her feet<\/span><\/strong>
and acting like a 4 year old again<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I am hard pressed to keep from getting up<\/span><\/strong>
and closing the office door in her face<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
“keep yer mouth shut”
I says to me self….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I notice that the “message light” is on <\/span><\/strong>
on my phone<\/span><\/strong>
so I check for voicemail<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
and I am bombarded <\/span><\/strong>
by this scathing reproach<\/span><\/strong>
from a woman <\/span><\/strong>
who purchased a course from us <\/span><\/strong>
that is to take place tomorrow<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
the course title includes the word “walk”<\/span><\/strong>
done so to allow people <\/span><\/strong>
who may not be able to do so<\/span><\/strong>
to understand that the course<\/span><\/strong>
does entail physical activity…<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
she’s all pissed off cos she can’t walk<\/span><\/strong>
like that’s my fault<\/span><\/strong>
and I should have told her it entailed walking<\/span><\/strong>
although the course description <\/span><\/strong>
both in our book and on line<\/span><\/strong>
use the word walk extensively<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
so now she and her husband <\/span><\/strong>
want their money back<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I’m like “yah<\/span>…….NO”<\/span><\/strong>
and then….<\/span><\/strong>
“keep yer mouth shut”
I says to me self….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
I then head to my forums<\/span><\/strong>
to read the latest happenings<\/span><\/strong>
of my friends far and wide<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
to find that things are changing<\/span><\/strong>
and taking the party line<\/span><\/strong>
I’m not in the least bit surprised<\/span><\/strong>
I’ve watched the back stabbing and mud slingin<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
up close and personal for a while<\/span><\/strong>
I am however surprised at the stated allusions<\/span><\/strong>
that we didn’t do our job properly<\/span><\/strong>
and now it will get done right….<\/span><\/strong>
the inference being<\/span><\/strong>
that the right person is now in charge<\/span><\/strong>
uhhhmmm<\/span>…”fuck that” I think….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>

I says to me self….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
but still…..I’m sad for the people left behind<\/span><\/strong>
that it should come to this….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>

so….<\/span><\/strong>
I think I may go home sick<\/span><\/strong>
and spend the day<\/span><\/strong>
laying on the couch<\/span><\/strong>
reading some fantasy novel<\/span><\/strong>
and paying no attention at all<\/span><\/strong>
to the people<\/span><\/strong>
that get my goat<\/span><\/strong>
in the fervent<\/span> hopes <\/span><\/strong>
that the day will come<\/span><\/strong>
when they and their opinions <\/span><\/strong>
