I just spent a half hour on the phone<\/strong><\/span>
with the 75 year old fadder<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
trying to get sound outta his<\/strong><\/span>
computer speakers <\/strong><\/span>
that ain’t worked <\/strong><\/span>
since he got it formatted <\/strong><\/span>
a year ago<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
every tedious step <\/span><\/strong>
of long distance research<\/span><\/strong>
accompanied by<\/span><\/strong>
“just a sec…” <\/span><\/strong>
as he puts the phone down<\/span><\/strong>
to complete the task<\/span><\/strong>
I’ve just given him….<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
to find out that it’s cos<\/strong><\/span>
the damn things <\/strong><\/span>
while plugged into the wall<\/strong><\/span>
were not plugged into the tower<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
so I get him to open an audio file<\/span><\/strong>
(no small feat in itself)<\/span><\/strong>
and he clicks on it and it stops<\/span><\/strong>

he swears <\/span><\/strong>

you are double clicking right?”<\/span><\/strong>
“well no” he says<\/span><\/strong>
“ya dinna<\/span> say double click”<\/span><\/strong>

ya’d<\/span> think I’d look for the obvious first<\/strong><\/span>
