Once again<\/strong><\/span>
my club has reached <\/strong><\/span>
an all time low<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
today was our Memorial Ride to Fallen Riders everywhere<\/strong><\/span>
and specifically to honor 2 members <\/span><\/strong>
that we lost last year and the year before<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
the event was planned several months ago<\/strong><\/span>
to stage for all the local chapters to meet<\/strong><\/span>
and then ride into town <\/strong><\/span>
and go to a members home for a BBQ <\/strong><\/span>
with the widows<\/strong><\/span>
of the 2 members we’ve lost <\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
specifically to show them respect and to honor the memory <\/strong><\/span>
of fallen riders everywhere<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
a couple of months ago 2 of the higher echelon<\/strong><\/span>
of this club tried to start a movement <\/strong><\/span>
to cancel this event<\/strong><\/span>
stating unequivocally that the widows wanted no part of it<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
funnily enough<\/strong><\/span>
both widows told me today<\/strong><\/span>
that at no time had they ever spoken<\/strong><\/span>
to either person in question <\/strong><\/span>
about cancelling…..<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
and again…..<\/strong><\/span>
as a result of the petty bickering<\/strong><\/span>
and self indulgent childish vengeful actions <\/strong><\/span>
of members and leaders of said club<\/strong><\/span>
and their lack of ability to put aside differences<\/strong><\/span>
and act like adults<\/strong><\/span>
for the good of the “all”<\/strong><\/span>
about half the attendees pulled out of the ride<\/strong><\/span>
did not attend the BBQ with the widows<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
they went into the town<\/strong><\/span>
went into town for Chinese food<\/strong><\/span>
instead…<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
this would be the same group of people<\/strong><\/span>
that toss the word “respect” around<\/strong><\/span>
like it’s a brick<\/strong><\/span>
These would be the same people<\/span><\/strong>
that have questioned the integrity of someone<\/span><\/strong>
for pulling out of an event because he didn’t <\/span><\/strong>
think he could hold his temper <\/span><\/strong>
These would be the same people that <\/span><\/strong>
spoke derisively of the people that couldn’t <\/span><\/strong>
or chose not to go to their event…<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
there were members from all over that couldn’t attend<\/strong><\/span>
for whatever reason<\/strong><\/span>
and that is understood<\/strong><\/span>
I get that<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
What I don’t get <\/span><\/strong>
is the slap in the face<\/span><\/strong>
to the widows of our fallen members<\/span><\/strong>
What I don’t get<\/span><\/strong>
is the complete and utter insult shown<\/span><\/strong>
the people that hosted the BBQ<\/span><\/strong>
they opened their home to people<\/span><\/strong>
they thought were their friends<\/span><\/strong>
and in return<\/span><\/strong>
got shit on…..<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
there’s truly no mistaking the statement <\/strong><\/span>
made today<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
Right now<\/strong><\/span>
I am embarrassed to say <\/strong><\/span>
that I am a member of the same club<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
