another rider was killed here last night<\/strong><\/span>
I sure hope it’s not someone I know<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
seems that the only answer that the police ever have<\/strong><\/span>
is that they were riding too fast<\/strong><\/span>
and while I’m sure that this often is<\/strong><\/span>
the contributing factor<\/strong><\/span>
it can’t always be <\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
in other news<\/strong><\/span>
the VOD<\/span> is still in Merritt<\/strong><\/span>
it’s kinda weird at my house right now<\/strong><\/span>
spooky quiet<\/strong><\/span>
but in a good way<\/strong><\/span>
too bad it wasn’t an incentive<\/span><\/strong>
to do some housework eh?<\/span><\/strong>
but I am firm in the understanding<\/span><\/strong>
that if I just sit down<\/span><\/strong>
the urge will pass! :o)<\/span><\/strong>
<\/strong><\/span>
the weather is much better this week<\/strong><\/span>
than it was last <\/strong><\/span>
and as a result the ride to work<\/strong><\/span>
is much more pleasant<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
then again<\/strong><\/span>
there’s never a bad day for a ride<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I watched a special on the news last night<\/strong><\/span>
about a news person<\/span> that was bombed in Iraq<\/strong><\/span>
She lived<\/strong><\/span>
but her crew didn’t<\/strong><\/span>
and it got me to thinking…<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
here’s the young wife of one of the camera men<\/strong><\/span>
and 2 very small children<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
poised at the beginning<\/span> of their lives<\/strong><\/span>
only to have all their hopes and dreams<\/strong><\/span>
dashed upon the rocks of fate<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
it brought me to mind of 2 things:<\/strong><\/span>
<\/span><\/strong>
1.. we hear about the war so much <\/strong><\/span>
that humanity seems to have <\/strong><\/span>
become desensitised to the horror…<\/strong><\/span>
we quickly flip the channel to avoid those <\/strong><\/span>
ghastly pix – <\/strong><\/span>
to keep us safe in our delusions<\/span>…<\/strong><\/span>
to keep us from understanding that the <\/span><\/strong>
thousands of people that die<\/span><\/strong>
were someones<\/span> daddy or mommy or <\/span><\/strong>
brother or sister or husband or wife <\/span><\/strong>
and that somewhere hearts are breaking<\/span><\/strong>
or broken…<\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/strong>
2…while that heartbroken wife has had all <\/strong><\/span>
of her hopes and dreams dashed<\/strong><\/span>
her two wee children haven’t….<\/strong><\/span>
they both call their daddy a hero<\/strong><\/span>
but they don’t truly<\/span> realize just what that means<\/strong><\/span>
they don’t realize that they’ve lost their daddy <\/span><\/strong>
cos a man in Washington says that they <\/span><\/strong>
need to protect their country from something<\/span><\/strong>
he finds fearful….that we are no longer sure exactly <\/span><\/strong>
what that is…but that their daddy was not just <\/span><\/strong>
a hero…he was a patriot.<\/span><\/strong>
and in spite<\/span> of the horrific loss of their daddy<\/strong><\/span>
they will go on to a new, not better but new reality<\/strong><\/span>
with new hopes and dreams<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
and that my friends<\/strong><\/span>
is the cycle of life<\/strong><\/span>
