I’ve spent a lot of time <\/strong><\/span>
over the last little while<\/strong><\/span>
jokin with my friends<\/strong><\/span>
about how my inside voice is broken<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
and how I have lost patience with stupidity<\/strong><\/span>
for stupidity’s sake<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
about how I can not abide <\/strong><\/span>
people who operate without empathy<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
and about how I know mean when I see it<\/strong><\/span>
cos I used to live it…<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
one of my blogging friends<\/strong><\/span>
who has a pretty active blog<\/strong><\/span>
that rarely has less than a dozen <\/strong><\/span>
comments per post<\/strong><\/span>
cos she’s bright and witty and funny and erudite<\/strong><\/span>
is having a real tough time just now<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
she’s suffering from depression<\/strong><\/span>
and she’s made some giant steps <\/strong><\/span>
to get help (first giant step is admission)<\/strong><\/span>
and to help herself<\/strong><\/span>
but she’s just started down the path <\/strong><\/span>
so she’s still having a tough time<\/strong><\/span>
taking baby steps<\/strong><\/span>
where giant steps could be used<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
yesterday<\/strong><\/span>
she posts a rather long blog<\/strong><\/span>
about the personal horror’s of her disease<\/strong><\/span>
about how undermining it is<\/strong><\/span>
to her psyche<\/strong><\/span>
about how she feels unlovable<\/strong><\/span>
about how non supportive she perceives her partner to be just now<\/strong><\/span>
about how she feels that<\/strong><\/span>
friends and family figure<\/strong><\/span>
that cos she’s started medication <\/strong><\/span>
everything should be status quo<\/strong><\/span>
and really slammin her cos she quit the job<\/strong><\/span>
that brought her to the peak of her disease<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
then some fucktard (as the very first comment)<\/strong><\/span>
posts a long rambling comment<\/strong><\/span>
about how she should step up to the plate<\/strong><\/span>
and “bite the bullet”<\/strong><\/span>
and work to support her man and family<\/strong><\/span>
blah blah blah<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
instead of being loving <\/strong><\/span>
and empathetic<\/strong><\/span>
and supportive<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
guess what happened?<\/strong><\/span>
I lost my temper<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
and posted a comment <\/strong><\/span>
the 2nd comment related to that post<\/strong><\/span>
that ran something like this:<\/strong><\/span>
“ok first off…people that pass judgment <\/strong><\/span>
from lofty heights <\/strong><\/span>
without identifying themselves <\/strong><\/span>
are gutless and passive aggressive <\/strong><\/span>
and should fuck off and shut up <\/strong><\/span>
– but fuck off first! <\/strong><\/span>
*dammit*”<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
yup<\/strong><\/span>
that’s right<\/strong><\/span>
I lost my cool and told some anonymous fucktard<\/strong><\/span>
just where the bear <\/strong><\/span>
shit in the woods<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
old habits die hard eh?<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
I don’t regret having said what I said <\/strong><\/span>
to the gutless wonder <\/strong><\/span>
that posted that meanness in her comments<\/strong><\/span>
but I do regret bringing her blog comments to a screeching halt<\/strong><\/span>
in one major move<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
it bothers me<\/strong><\/span>
when people are not ethical<\/strong><\/span>
it bothers me<\/strong><\/span>
when they don’t operate from a position of integrity<\/strong><\/span>
and in my books anonymous slams<\/strong><\/span>
are not integral<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
so<\/strong><\/span>
old habits die hard<\/strong><\/span>
and my knickers were in a knot<\/strong><\/span>
just long enough<\/strong><\/span>
to flap the yap<\/strong><\/span>
and as usual<\/strong><\/span>
for me it’s now gone<\/strong><\/span>
<\/strong><\/span>
everyone has to come thru<\/strong><\/span>
this disease<\/span><\/strong>
in their own way and time<\/span><\/strong>
and nobody should get to <\/span><\/strong>
compound the ailment<\/span><\/strong>
with anonymous venom<\/span><\/strong>
