went to the dr’s yesterday
(remember a time
when the dr was
virtually daily
or weekly outings
as opposed to yearly?)<\/p>\n

he says that I’m lucky
they Crohn’s is behaving
the blood pressure is too
but I need to come off the hormones<\/p>\n

*ATTN all men* stop reading here
if frank talk about
“women’s works” bother you<\/p>\n

so when I had a hysterectomy
the gynecologist put me on estrogen…<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
…I’ve always had <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
really elevated levels of testosterone<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
and for years they (they being the drs)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
attributed my hair loss to testosterone<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
but we’ve since found out that the hair loss<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
is indicative of auto immune disease<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

anyway – the elevated testosterone<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
was attributed to my then “overactive”<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
sex drive…<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
seems in my misspent youth<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I was always fighting er fuckin…<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
the removal of my ovaries and uterus<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
also stopped the <\/strong><\/span>Endometriosis<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on a dime<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
which aided in the ability to reach “remission” <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
with the Crohn’s Disease…<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
at the same time I was put on estrogen<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I was put on Elavil for the night terrors <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
attributed to PT SD<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
the Elavil is a very low dose<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
doesn’t aid me in getting to sleep<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
but when I do get to sleep <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I sleep like someone hit me on the head <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
with a rock<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
the combination of estrogen and Elavil<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
have completely eradicated my libido<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I could care less if I ever have sex again<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
don’t miss it<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
don’t care <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

however the added side effect of the combination<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
has made my years of mind boggling <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
PMS<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
disappear<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I no longer would rather fight than quit<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I no longer have screaming arguments with <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
inanimate objects<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I no longer am a vindictive hateful bitch<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
altho my reputation still doth proceed me<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
LoL<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
so yesterday the dr advises<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
that by the time I’m 55 <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I must be offa the hormone<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
that gives me 3 years<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
and I’m scared <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I hear all the arguments in favor of quiting<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
lower risk of invasive <\/strong><\/span>breast cancer<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
lower chance of gall bladder attacks<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
lower risk of greater risk of developing dementia, <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
including Alzheimer’s disease (I need alla help I can get)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
lower risk of <\/strong><\/span>stroke<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and <\/strong><\/span>deep vein thrombosis<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
lower risk of risk of <\/strong><\/span>myocardial infarction<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
altho the weight loss wouldn’t suck!<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/strong> <\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
but again<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

I’m scared<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I’m liking my quiet sedate life (for the first time in 50 years)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
I don’t want to go back there<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

I don’t want to be governed by my libido ever again<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
