does anyone else find it disconcerting <\/span>
that we as adults <\/span>
are becoming caretakers <\/span>
of our parents?<\/span>

it weirds me out<\/span>
<\/span>
first of all – there’s the Voice of Doom<\/span>
aka Mom<\/span>
<\/span>
she spends hours each day talking to her sister<\/span>
and then gets off the phone and tells me that her sister is a recluse and gets all her political views from Larry King Live<\/span>
well uhhhhmmm Mom?<\/span>
yer a freakin recluse and get all your political views from Larry King Live!<\/span>

Dad calls<\/span>
he’s having computer problems<\/span>
wants me to walk him thru installing a new printer<\/span>
I give him directions<\/span>
he writes them down<\/span>
an hour later he phones to yell at me<\/span>
cos his computer is “napping”<\/span>
<\/span>
whaddaya mean napping?<\/span>
well when I turn it on it comes up to my picture but nothing else<\/span>
oh…well whaddaya mean nothing else? can you see the cursor?<\/span>
what’s a cursor?<\/span>
the mouse arrow? can you see it?<\/span>
ayup<\/span>
can you see the start button?<\/span>
nope<\/span>
have you restarted the computer?<\/span>
why would I do that?<\/span>
*sigh*<\/span>

last night the VOD and I had a huge argument…<\/span><\/p>\n

after I got this new job I was in the position to have to shop for a used car<\/span>
she never drives her’s<\/span>
so she told me to stop shopping and drive her’s<\/span><\/p>\n

but (there’s always a but eh?)<\/span><\/p>\n

somehow the act of driving her car is supposed to have made me clairvoyant<\/span>
and I should be able to announce that “today I will take you to town to go to the bank”<\/span><\/p>\n

all she has to do is say…”I should go to the bank soon” <\/span>
but no<\/span><\/p>\n

we have to play this fucking passive aggressive guessing game<\/span>
in which she get’s pissy till I get pissed<\/span>
and then it’s ok for her to yell at me<\/span>
and to tell everyone in the family what a bitch I am<\/span><\/p>\n

(ya ain’t seen bitch yet old woman)<\/span>

I’ve said it before <\/span>
and I’ll say it again….<\/span>
