for 3 years I fought <\/span>
to get well enough<\/span>
to get outta my old job<\/span>
and find a new one<\/span>
<\/span>
and for 3 years<\/span>
while the job was hell <\/span>
and the stress of the job <\/span>
like to kill me<\/span>
<\/span>
I worked like a feind <\/span>
and I made friends<\/span>
<\/span>
and I spent all my waking time<\/span>
and most of my sleep time<\/span>
dreaming of a day<\/span>
when I got outta hell<\/span>
and back to the real world<\/span>
<\/span>
yesterday I was to meet with my new boss<\/span>
for a “work plan review”<\/span>
which is a nice way of saying<\/span>
“you write down everything you do for me<\/span>
so I don’t have to think about it <\/span>
and then I can take it to my boss<\/span>
and show him this report”<\/span>
but I digress<\/span>
<\/span>
anyway<\/span>
I write down all the stuff I do on the new job<\/span>
and it occurs to me that I am getting paid<\/span>
a rather large amount of money<\/span>
to do the job of a junior receptionist<\/span>
aka professional stamp licker<\/span>
<\/span>
so I print off what I have written<\/span>
about the new job <\/span>
that I’ll call job (B)<\/span>
the reality of the job I’m actually doing now<\/span>
<\/span>
and I come home and fire up the old email<\/span>
and search out and find <\/span>
the job description that enticed me to <\/span>
apply for this job<\/span>
<\/span>
I’ll call it job (A)<\/span>
the job I’d suggested <\/span>
that they needed a “wizardess” to fill<\/span>
the job that I thought <\/span>
would be my dream job <\/span>
and would take me to new heights…<\/span>
<\/span>
and once I find it <\/span>
I print it off too<\/span>
<\/span>
and I compare the two jobs<\/span>
and low and behold<\/span>
there’s not one thing on the job (B) list<\/span>
that was listed on job (A)list<\/span>
<\/span>
so in fact<\/span>
in truth<\/span>
I am <\/span>
a glorified stamp licker<\/span>
<\/span>
