I have a 17 year old toy poodle<\/span>
his name is Half a Cup o Cocoa<\/span>
and he’s been with me through <\/span>
thick and thin<\/span>
(that’s a thick waist and thin options)<\/span>
thru everything for 17 years<\/span>
<\/span>
I got up early today to take him to the groomer<\/span>
he needs a haircut bad<\/span>
and he won’t let me cut it<\/span>
<\/span>
over the last year or so<\/span>
every time I take him<\/span>
she and I have a talk about how <\/span>
she should respond should he stroke out<\/span>
on the table <\/span>
or in the bathtub<\/span>
<\/span>
my answer is always a terse<\/span>
“let him go”<\/span>
I don’t want him to suffer<\/span>
but I sure don’t want him gone<\/span>
<\/span>
funny thing<\/span>
I’d always had big dogs<\/span>
rottweillers and doberman pincers<\/span>
and shepherds and huskies<\/span>
<\/span>
when I got sick enough<\/span>
that I wasn’t going out of the house<\/span>
for days on end<\/span>
my mother and brother <\/span>
brought me this little brown bundle<\/span>
about the size of a cup<\/span>
<\/span>
and I was immediatley in love<\/span>
here I am 17 years later<\/span>
thinking about him no longer being here<\/span>
it isn’t pretty<\/span>
<\/span>
I have some great stories about his antics over the years<\/span>
but the best tribute I can give him<\/span>
is that he is my longest standing relationship<\/span>
<\/span>
and again<\/span>
tho I don’t want him to be in pain<\/span>
